Ranked among the top 20 innovators shaping modern plastic surgery by the American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS).
“One of the world’s top 2% scientists” – recognized by Stanford.
Prof. Wei’s Chang Gung team are the global record holders in minimally invasive surgery patient treatment.

Three Pioneering Surgical Procedures
Improved
toe-to-hand transplantation
The toes are trimmed to resemble fingers, then transplanted.
The index and middle fingers are reconstructed during a single surgery.
Mandibular
reconstruction
with a fibular
osteoseptocutaneous
flap
The fibula is extracted, trimmed into shape, implanted with teeth, then transplanted.
The flap replaces missing flesh, protecting the reconstructed jawbone.
Perforator flap transplantation
The perforator vessels and surrounding flap tissue are extracted without injuring the muscle, increasing the area of flap available for transplantation.
Clinical Impact
- Significantly lowers amputation risk while restoring limb function.
- Minimizes amputation and helps patients regain full limb function.
These techniques are now used as global standard teaching materials in advanced microsurgical training.

Trainee Feedback
The schedule and group assignments were very well organized, allowing hands-on participants to take turns performing flap elevation, observers to watch closely and discuss freely, while professors guided and demonstrated tricky parts and important tips.
Dr. Soo Jin Woo
South Korea
The dissection hall is spacious, and the dissections are projected on screens throughout the room, so everyone gets a clear view.
The cameramen are well trained, with multiple angles and excellent projection and sound, which is hard to achieve in dissection courses.
Dr. Dawn Chia

Surgical graded equipment is used…Our technique can be found in the paper published in Archives…in dissection process the color has very clearly delineated arterial and venous vessels in this medial sural perforator specimen… the dye has gone even into the periosteal…I think we can expect a high standard of quality in this master course.
Dr. Allen Wong
Singapore
In this course, it's possible to learn many key flaps. So participants can elevate flaps by themselves, And, I was able to meet many friends. I highly recommend.
